Sculptures on BizNews Asia & Images Asia Magazines 2017

These last few months of 2017 have been quite mesmerizing in terms of public reception for some of the newer works released from our studio. Aside from the exhibition of several cast-marble 'Eves of Eight' sculptures, this year has also marked the launch of my journey into fine sculpture jewelry. The pre-release events and announcements for my Thumbeline series of 18k aureate sculptures, along with the tandem unveiling of our revamped kylochua.com online gallery-boutique, pushed for many boundaries to be surpassed in the pursuit of my art form, here across the Asia Pacific territories.

To my gratitude and surprise, these sets of miniature sculptures were literally introduced to the Philippine and international communities with a brisk and vibrant flair, stemming from the editorial support and lustre of several notable magazine publications.

Tony Lopez' BizNews Asia featured a suite of photographs capturing sculptures from several of my preferred mediums. This was the second time I've had the honor of being published on their Philippine print issues. The first was back in 2015 where myself and my dad were interviewed on their evening talk show, where we shed a little more light on our processes for creating positive abstract art through sculpture.

Ernest Gonzaga's Images Asia, which had recently won as Asia's best lifestyle magazine at the 16th Gawad Amerika Convention in California, also generously featured my thumbeline creations in a five page spread for their October 2017 issue, alongside articles featuring several high society personalities like Chavit Singson, Enzo Williams and Beverly Hills' Yamani Caliwara.

It's been an eventful year so far, and I do feel very blessed to have met and interacted with many greats in the industry. These small, very personal sculptures of mine have come a long way since those memorable days of exhibition at the Ateneo de Manila University's student grounds. I can honestly say that art has brought me to new revelations about myself, other people, and a whole world of discoveries waiting to be made.

I'm a modern sculptor who circles around the possibility of creating contemporary beauty through fluid, smoothened curvatures of the human form. I have a craving for the elusive impact that abstract art can sometimes convey through its magnificent renderings of the human conditions. Once in a blue moon, I also tend to sleeptalk.
